Our good start to the season continued on Sunday with a 5 - 2 win away at Hope Farm, for the second week running the lads took an early lead within the first five minutes after a well taken goal by Dominic Stanton. Hope Farm came back into the game via a goal following an injury to Joe Layder. Joe lay on the floor after taking a boot into the mouth, the ref ignored the injury and Hope Farm equalised. Joe was replaced by Nick Dyne who filled the central role.
Later Hope farm took the lead before a well worked equaliser taken by Harry Harper following a good pass from Jack lumb and Dominic Stanton.
Both Oliver Handley and Dominic Stanton went close with long range shots but at half time it closed and 2 -2.
At half time new player Alistair Riddy (AJ) replaced Ben Moody on the left wing and "hustler" Jordan Davies replaced Harry Harper on the right wing. AJ's first touch saw him take the ball and control well releasing Luke Sawney who shot wide. Waverton continued to push looking to take the lead and scored via Luke Sawney following good work down the left wing.
Dominic Stanton was then replaced by Daniel Burrows. Waverton started to dominate the midfield with Adam Sawney and Jack Lumb winning the Ariel battles. Jordan Davies continued to create problems for Hope farm down the left wing before Daniel Burrows scored two goals to put Waverton in a winning position.
